Micah Garrett

Five year old Micah was in a car accident on July 25th on his way to school over the summer.  This accident unfortunately caused Micah to sustain a TBI alongside other injuries and he was life-flighted to Evansville, Indiana, and soon after life-flighted to Indianapolis where he was put into an induced coma for 8 days.  Upon waking, Micah’s dad said it was unsure just how much damage Micah would have long term.  Following the coma, Micah spent 17 days at Peyton Manning Hospital in Indianapolis, followed by a 10-day stay in Chicago, Illinois at a Brain Rehab Center for intensive therapy.   

   How do we know Micah is a fighter and overcame all odds? His dad said after 10 days in Chicago, Micah was able to return home! And not only did he return home, he began school TWO DAYS later! Micah still has a long road of recovery ahead of him and remains a fighter as he works hard twice a week with PT and OT.  Micah’s family said he is a free spirited, happy-go-lucky kid and each day they see that side of him come to life a little more. 

Part of this year’s proceeds will help Micah’s family offset medical bills, including the two life-flights Micah received post-accident.
